About Me
I am an associated professor and multidisciplinary researcher with a broad and extensive background in biomedical science and biological/forensic anthropology.
My expertise is unique and encompasses a wide range of research areas, with a specific focus on the vital connection between neurodegeneration, cell stressors, and the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids. Moreover, I have studied the origins of diseases and trauma, employing histopathology techniques on contemporary and ancient human and wildlife specimens alike.
Leveraging my experience and proficiency in establishing and overseeing cutting-edge core facilities (biobanks), I am also highly sought after as a consultant for establishing new laboratories in both academic and industry spheres.
Additionally, I am privileged to contribute to improving healthcare in underserved regions and communities by serving as a consultant in diagnostic technology and biologics delivery for Doctors Without Borders.
I have an unwavering dedication to advocating for equitable access to healthcare for all individuals and am passionate about fostering public engagement in science and amplifying the representation of the LGBTQIA community in STEM fields. By championing these causes, I aim to create a more inclusive and diverse scientific landscape. Ultimately, I aim to propel scientific advancements, bridge critical knowledge gaps, and inspire the next generation of researchers.
Together, we can achieve transformative progress in the pursuit of scientific excellence and a healthier world for everyone.
